Design & Build

Positive Footprints seeks to make the process of creating a sustainable home easy. By having Designers, Builders, Carpenters, and Energy Raters on staff, we are able to provide a total package from initial design, through the whole process of construction, to handing over the keys. All our designs are assessed and improved at design stage using the Accurate® House Energy Rating software for thermal analysis. Predicted room temperatures are analysed throughout the house, allowing any problem areas to be addressed early in the process and each zone fine tuned for thermal performance. Our current designs are generally 8 stars + in energy performance, with our first 9 star house currently under construction.1

Design Only

For Owner Builders, and those who want to use their own builders, we can also design and produce all necessary documentation to building permit stage. This includes subdivisions and development projects that require town planning. A comprehensive Specification document and environmentally preferred materials list helps to ensure the construction process fulfills the shared vision created in the design.

Consultation

We also provide consultation and advice if you already have an existing home or plans, through our Environmental Improvement Reports. These reports focus on improving energy and water efficiency, health outcomes, thermal comfort, and minimizing environmental impact. We discuss passive solar and energy saving ideas to improve your home or design, as well as advise on the choice of sustainable materials, and the leading edge technologies available. Positive Footprints can also provide any follow-up construction services required.
