From little things big things grow... Positive Footprints is driven by two directors, a husband and wife team, Jeremy Spencer and Chi Lu Chi graduated from the University of Melbourne (B.Com & B. Law) in 1996. She had worked in Law, Marketing and Business. Jeremy graduated from the University of Monash (B.Arts 1992) & UNE (Grad Dip Ed. 1998) and was a Primary School teacher. Prior to 2000, Chi and Jeremy who came from Melbourne, lived and worked in the United States and Ireland, and like many young people, maximised the opportunity to see the world. The overseas experience allowed them to appreciate various cultural perspectives and global concerns. Amongst the concerns that affected them, such as the disregard of human rights, the North-South divide of extreme wealth and poverty in the world, the senselessness of armed conflicts, one became a passionate topic of discussion. We, as a developed nation, have coveted a consumer lifestyle which takes for granted the planet's resources, and endangers the integral web of life on our planet, and it is critical that we find a way to alter from this course. In 2001, both decided that they would take responsibility for the state of the environment and to direct their energies to become part of the solution. This culminated in a change in career direction and a return to study for both of them. Since then, Jeremy completed a Diploma of Building and Constructions, and is now a Registered Builder in the state of Victoria, Australia. Chi has completed Certificate IV in Marketing (2000) & Certificate IV in Building Design and Technology (2002). In addition, we continue to research and study into material choices used in less conventional manner fuels ideas of what sustainable housing can be achieved.
